Retired ASP dies of dengue in Narail

The retired officer breathed his last on Friday, according to the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (UHFPO) at the upazila hospital

A retired Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Narail has died of mosquito-borne disease, dengue, in Narail.

The deceased Sharif Mostofa Kamal, 75, breathed his last around 10 am on Friday morning, confirmed Dr Sharif Mahbubur Rahman, UHFPO of Lohagara Upazila Health Complex.

Sharif was admitted to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex around 9pm on Thursday with dengue fever, according to the hospital sources. The matter was disclosed to journalists on Tuesday.

Narail Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen, said with Sharif's passing they have recorded the first death due to dengue in Narail this year.

Sharif was laid to rest at their family burial place in Pachuria village under Lohagara upazila in Narail.
