Police recovered the body of a local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from a field at Baghhata village in Baniachang upazila, Habiganj, on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rouf, 20. He was the vice-president of Kaghapasa union BCL and son of Abdur Rahman from Baghhata village.
Confirming the matter, Baniachang police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Emran Hossain said: "We recovered the dead body of Rouf after locals informed us of the matter.
"The body was sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy and police are working to unearth the reason behind the death," the OC added.
