Police arrested labour leader Alauddin
A housewife was reportedly gang-raped by four men in Bhakurta Mugrakanda area of Savar, on the outskirt of the capital Dhaka on Friday.
Victim's husband, who is a brick kiln worker, filed a case accusing four people with Savar Model police station, said the police station's Officer-in-Charge (OC) AFM Sayed.
He said: "Police arrested labour leader Alauddin. The three others accused Wahid, Jewel, and Shohidul are on the run."
"The arrested Alauddin is hailing from Moidam village of Bhurungamari upazila in Kurigram and was sent to jail flowing a court order on Saturday." the OC added.
According to the case statement, the victim's husband went to his workplace at Bhakurta Mugrakanda in Savar for his due wages on Friday afternoon. When he asked for his wages, labour leader Alauddin and his two associates Wahid and Shohidul beat him mercilessly, tying his legs and hands.
Meanwhile, another accused Jewel brought the wife of the brick kiln worker on the spot. At one point, the four accused raped the woman there.
