300,000 yaba worth Tk15cr seized in Cox’s Bazar

RAB also seized three machetes

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Friday detained two Rohingya yaba dealers with 300,000 yaba pills worth around Tk15 crore during a raid in Howaikong of Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf upazila.

The detained, identified as Md Shafiq who lives in Balukhai refugee camp in Ukhiya upazila, and Abdul Karim is from Tulatuli area of Teknaf upazila. 

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB set up an ambush in Tulatuli area of Howaikong and detained the two Rohingya yaba dealers with 300,000 yaba pills from the scene, said a press release, signed by ASP Abdullah Mohammad Sheikh Sadi, Assistant Director of RAB-15.

RAB also seized three machetes and handed over the yaba dealers to Teknaf Model police station after filing a case under the Narcotics Control Act, the press release added.
