UPDF made the call through a statement, signed by its publication and publicity affairs secretary Niran Chakma
The United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) has urged the two rival factions of the Jana Samhati Samiti (JSS) to shun the culture of violent political activities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
UPDF made the call through a statement, signed by its publication and publicity affairs secretary Niran Chakma, on Wednesday.
It said UPDF's position has always been against factional conflict and in favour of greater national unity, and called on both factions of the JSS to join the movement for the rights of the people.
The statement came after six members of Jana Samhati Samiti (Reformist-MN Larma) were shot dead and three others left injured, allegedly by a rival faction, on Tuesday at Baghmara of Bandarban Sadar upazila.
