A man has been hacked to death reportedly by his nephew in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj.
The deceased Abul Kashem, 55, --a resident of Sonmandi village in the upazila-- was hacked to death by his nephew, Hridoy Hossain, 25, who was handed over to the police by the locals, confirmed Md Moniruzzaman, OC of Sonargaon police station.
The incident took place on Sunday evening at Kashem's house, when an altercation broke out between the two over land disputes, police said quoting locals.
After the incident, locals gave Abul Kashem's nephew Hridoy a good thrashing and took the critically injured Kashem to a local hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead, said the OC.
The body was recovered at night and sent for an autopsy at the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue.
No case has been filed till the filing of this report.
