Wards no 3,10, 12, and 13 go under complete lockdown
Lockdown has been imposed on four wards under Comilla City Corporation from Saturday due to the alarming ascent of Covid-19 cases in the areas.
The lockdown will be in effect in wards no 3,10, 12, and 13-- which has also been declared as "red zone,"-- until July 3, 2020, according to a public notice signed by the district's deputy commissioner on Friday afternoon.
The areas include Racecourse and police lines areas under No 3 ward, Dharmasagar Paschimpar and Jhautala under No 10 ward, Uttar Chortha, Nanuadighirpar under No 12 Ward, and Dakkhin Chartha and its surrounding areas under No 13 ward.
Banks and necessary commercial institutes can perform limited operations with prior permission from the authorities.
However, groceries and pharmacies will remain open. Not more than five people will be allowed to each mosque for regular prayers, and the number of worshippers can not exceed 10 in Jummah prayers.
As the city has different commercial and business centres including Comilla Export Processing Zone, it is mandatory for the employees to carry ID cards during the restriction. A factory employee can enter or exit only for a single time in a day by showing the ID card.
