In Noakhali, a prime accused in a gang rape case has been killed in a reported gunfight with police in Sonakandi area of Senbag upazila.
The incident took place on Monday morning where three policemen were also injured, claims police.

While conducting an investigation, police arrested Mizan on Sunday afternoon and based on his confession, a team made a drive on Sonakandi area to arrest his associates around 3am Monday, police claimed.
“Sensing our presence, the outlaws opened fire at us and when we retaliated, they fled the spot,” said Senbag police OC Abdul Baten Mridha.
“After the incident, we found Mizan took a bullet and when he was taken to the hospital, the duty doctor declared him dead,” claimed the OC.
An LG gun, two rounds of bullets and a sharp machete was also recovered from the spot, police claim.
