Coronavirus: 13 including another Rohingya test positive in Cox's Bazar

Six Rohingyas have been tested positive for the coronavirus until now

Thirteen people including another from the Rohingya refugees have been tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) in Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.

The total number of confirmed cases in Cox's Bazar now stands at 202 including six Rohingyas, confirmed Dr Anupam Barua, principal of Cox's Bazar Medical College.

He said samples of 188 people were tested in the medical college's laboratory on Sunday and among them the 13 came positive.

The lab tested 4099 people in 47 days until now and among them reports of 229 people came positive for the coronavirus.

Earlier on Thursday, the administration in Cox’s Bazar has put 5,000 Rohingyas under lockdown at the Kutupalong camp after Covid-19 infections were reported from the refugee settlement.

Two of the refugees who were diagnosed with Covid-19 are residents of Camp No. 5 at Kutupalong.
