A team of RAB made a drive to the area and arrested the militant and seized evidence that proves his involvement with the group, RAB sources say
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained an active member of the militant group Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from the Khailkur area of Gazipur metropolitan.
Extremist books, computer CPUs, and mobile phones along with various leaflets and domestic weapons were recovered on the drive made by RAB-1 on Sunday night, RAB-1 sources said.
The detainee is identified as Md. Nazmul Hasan Noman, 19, son of Abdul Qadir of North Khailkur area of Gazipur.
RAB-1, Porabari Camp Commander Lieutenant Abdullah Al-Mamun said, that a RAB expedition team came to know on a tip-off that a secret meeting is going to be held in the area at around 11:30 pm on Sunday.
“We made a drive to the area and arrested the militant and seized evidence that proves his involvement with the group,” said the officer.
RAB also recovered four extremist books, 20 pages of extremist propaganda screenshots, 1 computer CPU, domestic weapons, and a mobile phone from his possession.
