Five killed in four districts

Of them, two 12-year-olds and a mentally challenged woman were killed in separate districts presumably as an act of revenge

At least five people were killed including two teenagers for unknown reasons in four districts around the country.

In Jessore, a third-grader named Sakib Hossain, 12, has been brutally killed for unknown reasons in Chowgacha upazila.

Police recovered the body of the child from a drainage nearby his house on Monday morning with his eyes gouged out, said Chowgacha police station OC Rifat Khan Rajeeb. 

"The child was strangulated before his death and it could have been an attack spurred from previous family disputes," added the OC.

In Bagharpara, police recovered a dead body of an unidentified woman from a bush in Dhalgram union of the district. 

Locals said the woman was mentally challenged and roaming the area for a few days. However, they could not say anything about her whereabouts.

"We sent the body for autopsy. We are investigating the incident," said Baghairpara police station OC Syed Al Mamun.

 In Pabna, another 12-year-old child was hacked to death by some unidentified miscreants presumably as an act of revenge out of previous disputes, police say.

Police recovered his dismembered body from a deserted garden of Sadar upazila on Monday morning, confirmed ASP Ibne Mizan of Pabna Sadar police station.

In Manikganj, a three-wheeler driver named Abdul Malek has been found dead by the side of Manikganj-Hemayetpur highway in Singair upazila.

Family sources said, Abdul left his home the previous night and they alleged as the vehicle went missing from the spot he might have been mugged and killed.

"Abdul seems to have died by a road accident. We are investigating the incident," said SI Anwar Hussain of Singair police station. 

In Kurigram, a man named Mukul Miah, 42, has been beaten to death after a dispute over a cricket game with his neighbours in Ulipur upazila.

The incident took place on Sunday and a case was filed accusing 10-11 people with Ulipur police station, sources said.

“We arrested three people regarding the matter and sent the body for an autopsy,” said  Ulipur police station OC Moazzem Hossain.
