Police have arrested two teachers from Chittagong and Manikganj, who posted Facebook statuses seeking the release of convicted war criminal Delwar Hossain Sayedee.
In Chittagong, police arrested a madrasa principal, identified as Nurul Kabir, from his residence in Sitakunda upazila at around 2:30am on Tuesday.
The arrested Nurul is the principal of Jobaida Mohila Madrasa, according to Sitakunda police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Firoz Hossain Molla.
Firoz said: "Nurul posted a status on Facebook on Friday, seeking the release of Delwar Hossain Sayedee."
"We arrested the accused teacher later from his residence after a case was filed against him under the Digital Security Act," the OC added.
In Manikganj, police arrested a teacher identified as Mohammad Solaiman Islam from Abu Danga village of Ghior upazila on Monday.
The arrested Solaiman is the assistant teacher of Tershree Kali Narayan (KN) Institution, according to Ghior police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ashraful Alam.
The teacher was sued under the Digital Security Act, said the OC.
