At least five people have died after suffering coronavirus like symptoms in three districts around the country on Sunday.
In Kurigram, two children have died from coronavirus alike symptoms in Nageswari and Bhurungamari upazila on Sunday.
The deceased, a six-month-old toddler died with fever and other symptoms in Naodanga village of Santoshpur union, confirmed Nageswari Health Officer Dr Abu Bakkar Siddik.
Another, a six years old child has died after suffering from five-days of fever in Bhurungamari upazila. Dr SM Sayem, health officer of Bhurungamari said, the child might have got infected from his father, who recently got back from Dhaka.
In Feni, a tea vendor has died with fever, throat pain and flue like symptoms in Daganbhuiyan on Sunday.
The deceased, Sayedul Haque’s sample has been collected and will be sent to the nearest hospital. His house has been locked down as well until the report comes negative, confirmed UNO Rabiul Hasan.
In Sirajganj, a sixty-year-old man has died after suffering from coronavirus like symptoms in Thutia village of Shahjadpur upazila on Sunday.
The burial was handled by districts Awami League activists maintaining proper protocols and samples have been taken from the deceased and his family to detect the illness, said UNO Shah Mohammad Shamsuzzoha.
In Bhola, a fifty years old woman has died from coronavirus alike symptoms in Halimabad village of Char Fashion upazila on Sunday.
The woman was suffering from fever and other flue- like symptoms and died while returning to her home from a medical centre, said Shovon Basak, health officer of the upazila.
He said: “The woman might have got infected from her Chittagong returnee husband.”
