A three-member committee was formed to conduct the tests
A Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) machine reached Faridpur Medical College Hospital from Dhaka on Friday morning to facilitate Covid-19 testing at the hospital, reports a correspondent from Faridpur.
The authorities couldn’t confirm how many tests could be conducted per day once the machine is installed. “We are hoping to begin the tests from April 14 to April 15,” said Prof Dr SM Khabirul Islam, principal of Faridpur Medical College.
A three-member committee was formed to conduct the tests. Dr Ashraful Alam, a doctor of the microbiology department will lead the team. Dr Wadud, head of the pathology department and Dr Rejaul Kader, head of the biochemistry department, are other members of the team.
Dr Khabirul said: “We were able to make all the arrangements to begin testing as soon as possible through the necessary support from the deputy commissioner and the Public Works Department.”
