Shahin Kabir, family planning inspector of Aminpur Union of Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj, was suspended from duties for holding his wedding ceremony by defying government's restrictions on mass gathering due to coronavirus.
A notice, signed by Dhaka Divisional Family Planning Department Director Md Shariful Islam, was issued in this regard on Thursday.
Shaheen along with 70 people went to Sonmandi union of Sonargaon upazila in order to tie the knot on April 7.
Being informed, a mobile court, led by Sonargaon upazila UNO Saidul Islam, conducted a raid. Sensing the presence of the mobile court, Shahinn fled the scene.
Later, the court fined Shahin's younger brother Sohel Tk10,000 for organizing a wedding ceremony amid lockdown.
