A second-grader girl was reportedly raped by two teenagers in Rowmari upazila of Kurigram.
The arrestees, one 14-year-old and another 15-year-old, allegedly took the second-grader child into a cornfield and raped her, police say.
Hearing her screams, locals rushed to the area, found the injured child and caught the two teens on the act. Later they handed them over to the police, local sources said.
Family sources said the child went to play in that area and the two accused lured her into the field to rape her. After their arrest, the mother of the child filed a case against the two with Rowmari police station on Tuesday night.
Quoting the Residential Medical Officer (RMO) of Rowmari Upazila health Complex, Dr Nupur Biswas, Rowmari Police OC Dilwar Hasan Imam said they found evidence of a possible rape incident and sent the injured child to the Kurigram General Hospital for further check-ups and treatment.
He said: “We received a complaint. After filing of the case we will send the two accused to the court.”
