A man has been hacked to death in Satorgira upazila of Satkhira district.
The deceased, Shawkat Shikder, 60, was the son of late Muktar Sarder and grandfather of Muktamoni, who drew the nation's attention with an abnormally large right arm consisting a 3kg tumour, in Labsa union of the upazila.
Shawkat died at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) around 9pm on Saturday.
His son-in-law Ibrahim Hossain said Shawkat was hacked by a man named Shamim and his eight to ten associates over a feud on mosque donation on Friday.
Locals rescued Shawkat and rushed him to Satorgira General Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to KMCH where he died while undergoing treatment.
Satorgira police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Asaduzzaman said we have heard the news but no case has been filed yet.
We will take action as soon as a case is filed, the OC added.
