'The house was put under lockdown on suspicion of possible coronavirus contamination'
Upazila administration put a man’s house under lockdown as he came back from Dhaka with a fever and cold.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Fazle Elahi imposed the 14-day lockdown order in Bathulisadi of Basail upazila of Tangail on Wednesday.
The man is a local grocery shop-owner and his wife works at a yarn factory. There are eight members in his family.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Fazle Elahi said the man returned home from Dhaka with his wife and children. As he was seen ill with fever, locals informed the upazila administration. Later, a medical team went to his house and checked his condition.
“The house was put under lockdown on suspicion of possible coronavirus contamination,” he said.
Local UP chairman Mirza Raziq has been asked to arrange a meal for the family during this lockdown period, he added.
