A murder case accused was killed in a reported gunfight between to gangs of criminals in Dhulihar union of Satkhira Sadar upazila early yesterday, said police
The deceased, identified as Wahed Ali, was the son of Nabab Ali from Tamaltala village of the upazila, said Satkhira Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Md Asaduzzaman.
Asaduzzaman said: "On a tip-off, a team of Sadar police station and Detective Branch (DB) of Police conducted a raid in Dhulihar area around 1 am on Friday where two groups of criminals were engaged in a gunfight for establishing supremacy. After reaching the spot, we recovered the body of a murder case accused Wahed Ali while other criminals managed to flee the scene."
"Wahed was accused in six cases including the murder of Satkhira City College lecturer Mamum on February 28, 2013, and Awami League leader Nazrul on July 22, 2019." he continued.
Asaduzzaman also said police recovered one shooter gun, two rounds of bullets and a knife from the scene, and the body was sent to Sadar hospital for autopsy.
