Coronavirus has claimed over 10,000 lives and infected more than 275, 000 people across the world
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a man from the Mujgunni area under Khalishpur police station in Khulna for spreading rumours over coronavirus.
The arrest was made around 7:45pm on Thursday night.
The arrestee was identified as Md Meraj Al Sadi, 30, son of late Abdul Mannan from the same area.
RAB 6 Media Officer ASP Mahbub Alam said in the primary investigation Meraj has confessed about spreading rumours over coronavirus through Facebook.
He has been handed over to Khalishpur police station, the RAB official added.
RAB also seized two mobile phones, three SIM cards, one memory card and two screenshots of the rumours spread from his possession.
Earlier on March 13 and March 18, the law enforcement agencies arrested two other men on the same charge from Chittagong district.
The fast spreading coronavirus has claimed over 10,000 lives and infected more than 245,000 people across the world, according to the worldometer.
Meanwhile, a Bangladeshi died of Covid-19 and 16 others were infected so far.
