At least five people were killed in road accidents in Mymensingh and Bogra on Friday.
In Mymensingh's Bhaluka Upazila, two people were killed when a truck rammed into a parked rickshaw on the Dhaka-Mymensing Highway.
One of the deceased is Anwar Hossain, 55, a garment worker in Bhaluka, hailing from Burichang Upazila of Comilla district, reports a correspondent in Mymensingh.
However, the identity of the deceased rickshaw puller could not be known immediately.
Bhaluka Model police station OC Md Mainuddin said police seized the truck but the driver managed to flee.
Meanwhile, in Trishal Upazila, two brothers were killed when a vehicle ran them over in the afternoon.
The deceased are identified as Abdur Rahim and Abdul Mazid, confirmed Trishal police station OC Azizul Islam.
In Bogra, a man was killed when a cargo-hauling vehicle hit him at the Hajipur area in Sherpur Upazila, reports our Bogra correspondent.
The deceased was identified as Mohrom Ali, 70, confirmed Ratan Islam, station officer of Sherpur fire service.
