Prisoner dies in Mymensingh: A prisoner of district central jail died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. The deceased Ibrahim, 42 landed in jail on February 25 after a mobile court sentenced him three months in jail for carrying drugs. Jailer Abdullah said: "Ibrahim died after he was admitted at the hospital with breathing problems around 1 am on Tuesday. The body was handed over to family of the deceased."

10 Bangladeshi girls brought back from India: Ten Bangladeshi teenage girls, trafficked to India, were brought back home on Tuesday through Benapole check post. The girls aged between 10 to 17 worked either as domestic help or brick kiln workers for the last two years in India, said Benapole port police station OC Mamun Khan. He added that letters had been exchanged between the foreign ministries of both countries to bring them back. The girls will be handed over to their families.

Woman found dead in Patuakhali hotel: Police recovered the body of a woman from Hotel holiday inn beside Kuakata sea beach in the district on Tuesday. The identity of the deceased was not known yet. Mohipur police station OC Mahbububur Rahman said: "We are investigating whether it's a murder or suicide."

Three killed in Cox's Bazar road accidents: Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Chakaria and Ramu upazilas on Tuesday. In Chakaria, Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a bus on Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway in Boroiltali union. The deceased were Shamsul Islam, 50 and Osman,45, said SI Anisur Rahman, the In-charge of Chiringa Highway police outpost. In Ramu, a man was killed in a head-on collision between two buses in Gucchogram village under Joarianala union. The deceased Sumon Debnath hailed from Chandanaish upazila of Chittagong, said Ramu police station OC Abul Khayer.

Protest held in JU over BCL men murder: Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League(BCL) Jahangirnagar University(JU) unit on Tuesday brought out a procession on campus, protesting the killings of two BCL leaders. Rakib died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital(DMCH) after he was critically injured in an attack, carried out by Islami Chhatra Shibir in Begumganj upazila in Noakhali. Another BCL leader Rasel died on the way to Dhaka while being transferred from Khulna Medical College Hospital. Rasel sustained critical injuries in a clash between two groups of villagers over the construction of a bridge in Koyra upazila in Khulna.

Arms dealer held in Jessore: Police, in a drive, detained an arms dealer with one pistol, two magazines and six rounds of bullets from Birampur area of Sadar upazila on Tuesday. The detainee Ismail Mandal, 30 lives the area. Jessore sub-town police camp In-charge SI Latif said: "We detained Islamil while he was waiting in the area to sell the illegal arms. A case will be filed with Kotwali police station."

4 ship-breaking yards fined in Chittagong : The Department of Environment (DoE) fined four ship-breaking yards Tk 60 lakh for constructing barges illegally and violating the conditions of environmental clearance certificate. DoE’s Chittagong Region Director Moazzam Hossain slapped the fined on the errant ship-breakers following hearings at his office on Tuesday.
