BSF detains Bangladeshi along Kurigram border

'Process is underway to bring back the Bangladeshi'

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) detained a Bangladesh national from Khalishakotal border area in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram on Wednesday night.

The detainee is Nurnabi Mia, 30, a resident of Khochabari village in Phulbari.

Commanding Officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) battalion 15 in Lalmonirhat Lt Col SM Touhidul Alam confirmed the matter on Thursday.

BGB sources said Nurnabi had been working in Delhi for long.

BSF personnel of 38 Korola camp apprehended him from the nearby demarcation pillar number 934 around 10:30pm when he was returning to Bangladesh, they said.

"Process is underway to bring back the Bangladeshi through discussion with BSF," Lt Col Touhidul said.
