A female garment worker’s home was reportedly vandalised by miscreants in Paragao Thakur Barirtek of Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj on Wednesday.
The girl’s family claimed miscreants vandalised their house to intimidate them into withdrawing their case.
According to the girl’s father, on February 10 his daughter went to a flower garden in Thakurbaritek when Sabuj, Mohiuddin, Shahid, and Akash took her to an isolated place and took turns raping her.
The girl’s father filed a case with Rupganj police station on February 13.
Police then arrested Sabuj, 25, and Mohiuddin, 27.
Meanwhile, Akash, another accused in the rape case, led a group of 10-12 men to the girl’s house and vandalised her home on Wednesday at dawn.
After receiving the information, Bhulta police station Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Shaheen visited the scene.
Bhulta police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azhar Ali said: “The girl’s family has filed a complaint that their house was vandalised. However, they couldn’t specify anyone who was involved. We will take action after our investigation concludes.”
Rupganj police station OC Mahmudul Hasan said: “We have already arrested two people. We are trying to arrest the others.”
