All stakeholders concerned will attend a meeting on Monday in this regard
A group of readymade garment (RMG) workers who blocked Dhaka-Mirpur regional road in Savar's Burulia area on Sunday morning has called it off after three and a half hours.
Savar Model police station’s Officer-in-Charge (Operation) Zakaria Hossain said the workers blocked the road around 8am demanding outstanding dues and withdrew it at 11:30am.
Then the agitating workers went to Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) office, he said.
A BGMEA spokesperson said its president already talked to the Labour Secretary in this regard and a meeting will be held at 3pm on Monday at Shram Bhaban in the city, reports UNB.
Labourers, garments owners, BGMEA, Industrial Police and all stakeholders concerned will attend the meeting, the spokesperson said.
The workers of Sark Knitwear Limited garments said they blocked the road as the authorities hung a notice of factory closure for indefinite time without clearing their dues.
