A case has been filed against Bony Amin, information and research secretary of Barishal district Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) for abducting and raping a seventeen year old college girl.

The girl’s mother filed the case with Barishal Airport police station on early Wednesday.

The accused Bony Amin is married with two children and is a third-class employee of Barishal University (BU).

He is also the president of the employees association of BU.

According to case files, the girl is a classmate of Bony’s younger daughter.

The girl previously rejected Bony’s indecent proposals and on February 9 Bony abducted her from the Barishal bus terminal area, on her way to her college.

The girl’s family informed the police on February 10 and she was rescued from a house on February 11 where she was kept captive and allegedly raped by Bony.

Barishal district BCL president Abdur Razzak said Bony was expelled from the organization after the case was lodged.

Zahid Bin Alam, officer in charge of Barishal Airport police station, said police rescued the abducted college girl on Tuesday and sent her to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital on Wednesday.

Police are trying to arrest the absconding Bony Amin, he added.
