Two schoolboys have been killed in Rajshahi

At least six people, including two schoolboys and a policeman, have been killed in separate road accidents in three districts.

In Rajshahi, two fifth graders were killed as a microbus hit the bicycle they were riding in Godagari upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased are Sumon, son of Alamgir, and Fuad, son of Hamidul, both residents of Ratahari area. They were students of Nabagram Government Primary School.

The incident took place in Shadur Mor area around 10am when the duo was going to school, said Godagari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khairul Islam.

Both of them died on the spot, he said. 

The driver of the microbus fled the scene with his vehicle soon after the incident, the OC added.

In Chittagong, three people were killed in a collision between two goods-laden trucks at Sitakunda upazila early Wednesday.

The accident took place in Panchbaria on Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 4am, Sitakunda police station OC Md Siraj Hossain said. 

All the victims died on the spot, the OC added. 

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

In Tangail, a member of police was killed as a bus ran over him in the College Gate area on Wednesday morning.

The deceased is Arman Rayhan, 23, a resident of Narsingdi. He was serving as a constable in the police lines.

Tangail Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shafiqul Islam said Arman was heading towards the workplace on his motorcycle.

On the way, a bus of Government Saadat College hit the motorcycle from behind and ran over him, leaving Arman critically injured.

He was rushed to Tangail General Hospital where the on-duty physician declared him dead, the ASP said.

Police seized the bus and arrested its driver, he added.
