Ansar member killed in Sirajganj: A member of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP was killed reportedly over land dispute at Nischintapur village of Raigonj upazila on Tuesday. The deceased, Abdul Matin, a member of Bogra Ansar and VDP, was the son of Shahjahan Ali from the village. Raigonj police station OC Panchananda Sarker said that a case would be filed.

Two university students die after taking yaba: Two university students reportedly died after taking yaba pills at a resort in Sadar upazila of Cox's Bazar, UNB reports. The deceased were Abir Rahman Rumi, 24, and his friend Mohammad Arefin, 25. They were students of a university in the capital. Sadar Model police station OC Shahjahan Kabir said:"Abir and Arefin along with two other friends came to the beach town on Friday to spend their vacation. All of them fell ill on Saturday after taking yaba pills and were admitted to Sadar Hospital, where Abir died on Sunday. Arefin and one of his friends were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the capital, where Arefin died on Monday morning, the OC said.
Man found dead in Munshiganj: Police on Tuesday recovered the body of a man from Dhaleshwari River, five days after he went missing. The deceased, Dulal Mollah, 40, a painter by profession, was from Char Kishoreganj area of the district. Munshiganj Sadar police station OC Anisur Rahman said: " On being informed, we recovered the body and sent it to Munshiganj District Hospital for autopsy.”

Two die after trawler sinks in Bhola: Two fishermen died after a fishing trawler sank in Meghna River on Monday. The deceased, Rajib was from Ashabag village of Charfesson upazila, and Rakib was from Velumia village of Sadar upazila in the district. Charfesson police station OC Md Samsul Arefin said: "The bodies were handed over to their families."

Man killed in Habiganj: A man was killed in a clash between two groups of villagers at Amanullahpur village in Lakhai upazila. The deceased, Mofizul Haque, 25, was from the village. Lakhai police station OC Saidul Islam said: "Mofizul died on the spot as he was stabbed with a sharp weapon. The body was sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy. We are trying to arrest those responsible for the murder."

Prisoner dies in Gazipur: A prisoner of Kashimpur Central Jail died on Tuesday. The deceased, Abdullah Al Mamun was from Matainpur village from Comilla Sadar upazila. Jailer of Kashimpur Central Jail-1 Salma Akhtar said: "Gazipur was admitted to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital as soon as he suffered chest pain. Afterwards, doctors pronounced him dead. He was accused in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act."

Fishing cat trapped in Jessore: Villagers trapped a fishing cat colloquially known as mecho bagh from the Dihi village of Sharsha upazila. On Monday evening locals spotted the cat in the village and managed to capture it alive. At present, the cat is under the supervision of Union Parishad Member Rafiqul Islam, where people are crowding to take a glance at the animal. Assistant Sub-Inspector Jamir Uddin said police visited the cat, which would be handed over to the forest department.
