Five people, including three SSC candidates were injured
Five people, including three SSC examinees, have been injured as a bus carrying 33 passengers got into a road accident in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka.
The accident took place in the Batulia area of Dhamrai on Tuesday morning.
The injured include three Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinees, a teacher and a guardian. However, their identities could not be confirmed yet.
The SSC examinees were sent to their respective examination centre after they were provided primary treatment.
According to police and eyewitnesses, the SSC students along with some teachers and guardians were on their way to Kushura Abbas Ali High School in Dhamrai from Ashulia to take part in the examination.
When the bus reached Batulia area of Kalampur-Saturia road, the driver lost control of the steering and the bus veered towards the roadside ditch and hit a wall of an empty chamber situated there.
Confirming the news to Dhaka Tribune, Dhamrai police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Kamal Hossain said: "A police team went to the spot immediately after being contacted about the accident. The injured were rescued with the help of the locals and provided first-aid treatment."
"The SSC examinees have been sent to the exam centres to sit for their exam."
