A fire that broke out at Parabat Express has been doused within half an hour in Brahmanbaria.
The incident occurred when the train was entering the outer signal of the station around 8:45 am on Friday.
Parabat Express power car operator Belayet Hossain said they found fume emitting from the power bogie of the Sylhet-bound train.
"A number of passengers got injured while trying to get down from the train as soon as it entered into the Brahmanbaria station," he added.
Brahmanbaria Fire Service Senior Station Officer Shakria Haider said while being informed, a fire fighting unit rushed to the spot, and extinguished the blaze.
"Around 1,000 litres of oil burned up, and a portion of the engine was gutted in the fire. However, we are still trying to identify the source of the fire," he said.
