A poetry recital program was organized in Moulvibazar’s Sreemangal on Friday where a group of progressive poets gathered to recite poems about everything that is wrong with today's society.
The event, chaired by the prominent Lyricist Hasan Fakri, was held at “Bhuiya bari” in Sirajnagar of the upazila at 11am in the morning.
The first phase of the program was inaugurated by Bangladesh Krishak Samity’s Central Committee Advisor Comrade Abdul Malik.
Among other dignitaries present, Badal Shah Alam, editor of literary magazine ‘Khonon’, spoke about the importance of social awareness and an overall sense of vigilance as means to fight the evils of society.
The renegade poets, through their recitals, took a stance against the increasing incidents of rape, violence, crime, oppression and repression in the country.
