In Thakurgaon, one man was killed and six injured in three separate road accidents

At least six people were killed and 15 others injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong, Thakurgaon, Narsingdi and Jhenaidah.

In Chittagong, three people were killed and five others injured following a collision between two buses on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway near Shantirhat area in Patiya upazila yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Omar Faruque, 40, ASM Zahed Hossain, 41, and Nigar Sultana, 32.

Patiya Highway police outpost In-Charge Bimol Bhowmik said: “Injured were taken to hospital where the on-duty doctor pronounced Omar, Zahed, and  Nigar dead.”

In Thakurgaon, one man was killed and six injured in three separate road accidents.

The deceased was identified as Rafikul Islam, 30, from Krishnapur village of Sadar upzila.

Thakurgaon Sadar police station OC Tanvirul Islam said: "Rafikul died when a car ran him over near Jamalpur Ikkhu Khamar area on Thursday night."

Three people were injured on Thakurgaon-Panchagarh Highway near Vulli Itvata area and in a separate incident, three other people were injured on Ruhia-Thakurgaon road near Debiganj Nimbari area.

In Narsingdi, a private car driver was killed and four other passengers of the car were injured when the car clashed with a Dhaka-bound bus on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway near chaitanna area of Shibpur upazila yesterday.

The deaceased was identfied as Ujjal Miah, 35, from Hosainpur area of Kishoreganj district.

Itakhola Highway police outpost In-Charge Zayedul Haque said: "The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and the deceased's body was taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy."

In Jhenaidah, a child was killed when a goods-laden three wheeler ran him over on Kaliganj-Mollickpur road near Mostobapur area of Kaliganj upazila yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Adnan, 3, son of Mizanur Rahman.

Kaliganj police station OC Mahfuzur Rahman Miah said: "Adnan was taken to Kaliganj upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor pronounced him dead."
