3 of a family killed in Jessore road accident

Three female members of a family have been killed and four others injured in a road accident in Jessore district town.

The accident took place near the town's Shaheed Mashiur Rahman street on early Saturday.

The deceased are Tonima Yasmin Piyasha, 25, and Tanjila Yeasmin Easha, 28, and their sister-in-law Afroza Tabassum Tithi, 26.

The injured are Afroza's daughter Manizur, 3, Shafiqul Islam Jyoti, 28, Shahin Hossain, 23, and Hridoy, 28,

Family members said Tonima and Shafiqul, who were going to have their wedding ceremony on January 23, went on a drive around town with a few others in Shafiqul's car. 

The accident occurred when they were on their way home and the car hit an electric pole and a building's wall, leaving the trio dead on the spot.

Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Jessore Kotwali police station Inspector (Investigation) Tasmim Alam said: "We went to the spot after receiving information about the accident, and took the injured to Jessore General Hospital."

Quoting  Kajol Mallik, the on-duty doctor at the hospital's emergency department, Senior Nurse Mofazzal Hossain said: "The three of them died before they were brought to the hospital."
