Ilish Misti is dominating in various occasions including wedding ceremonies, birthday parties and the like to entertain guests. It is made of Kheer(pudding), sugar and Horlicks, and Per kg Ilish sweet is sold at Tk 400 to 450

Madaripur district, situated just beside the Padma river is well known for the country's national fish Hilsa. The district has recently become famous for a sweet named Ilish misti(sweet). The sweet is not made of ilish, rather it looks like peti(stomach) of Ilish fish, which is why it is called Ilish Misti. The sweet has become quite popular thanks to its unique taste.

A customer named Ruby said: "Madaripur is renowned for different kinds of mouth-watering sweets. But, the ilish misti has turned heads of many owing to its charming design and delicious taste."

Madaripur Adi Satkhira Ghosh Dairy owner Pradip Ghosh said: The ilish misti(sweet) is popular among the people of the district. Especially, children love the sweet very much."
