In Tangail, police on Saturday arrested a college Chhatra League unit man for reportedly raping a college girl in Bhuapur upazila
Four people were arrested, accused in cases filed for rape in Jessore and Tangail.
In Jessore, police arrested three members of a teenage gang, accused in a case filed for gangraping a teenage girl in Shangkarpur in the city.
The accused, Raihan, 20, Shakil, 20, and one juvenile, were arrested in separate drives from Khulna, Gopalganj and Jessore, said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Touhidul Islam in a press briefing on Saturday.
He said: "On November 1, the girl was on her way to Monihar from Bakchar on a rickshaw when some of the accused abducted her. Initially she was raped by five people in Kharki Doctorbari, and was then dropped off at the residence of local criminal Vagne Hridoy, who then raped her again with three others."
"The accused rapists then dropped off the severely injured girl near a hospital, where she was taken by locals. On November 3 the girl's mother filed a case with Jessore Kotwali police station against seven people, naming four," added ASP Tohidul.
He said police identified nine people involved in the crime and all of them will eventually be brought to book.

The accused Hridoy Mondal is the Ibrahim Khan Government College Chhatra League unit president and was arrested after the girl filed a case against him on Friday night, said Bhuapur police station OC Rashidul Islam.
According to the case statement, Hridoy had been raping the married girl on several occasions over the past six months, threatening to kill her husband, if she disclosed the matter.
As her husband found about the matter, the girl with her husband was finally able to file a case with police.
"Hridoy was on bail in another rape case, filed against him in 2017. He was produced before a court on Saturday and was later sent to jail." said OC Rashidul.
