The 20th span of the Padma Bridge was successfully installed on Tuesday afternoon.

He said the 150 meter long and 3,140 ton heavy span was carried by crane Tian-E from Mawa's Kumarvog construction yard to the pillars, and subsequently installed permanently around 1pm on Tuesday.
With the installation of this span, three spans have been installed in this month of victory.
Executive Engineer Dewan Md Abdul Kader said:"Our plan is to install three spans each month going forward. All the 41 spans of the bridge will be installed within July if we can follow this schedule."
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said all the spans of the Padma Bridge will be installed by July 2020.
The bridge will be open to traffic by 2021, he added.
Once in operation, the Padma Bridge will connect 21 southern districts with the capital and boost the country's GDP by 1.2 percent, according to experts.
The 6.15km long two story bridge is being constructed of steel and concrete. The main bridge is being built by the China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Company Limited.
