RAB members shot in Cox's Bazar

The incident took place while the elite force was conducting drives in Nayapara refugee camp of Teknaf in Cox's Bazar on Monday

Two members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have been shot by yaba dealers during an anti drug operation in Cox's Bazar.

The incident took place while the elite force was conducting drives in Nayapara refugee camp of Teknaf in Cox's Bazar on Monday.

The injured were  identified as Corporal Shahab Uddin, 35 and Sainik Imram.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Shah Alam, also assistant director of Rab-15 said: "On a tip-off, RAB members conducted drives while Rohingya yaba dealers were engaged in selling contraband pills in Shiallaghona area of Nayapara refugee camp. Sensing the presence of RAB, yaba dealers opened fired, injuring two of our members. 

"The injured were taken to Combined Military Hospital(CMH) in Ramu for necessary treatment." Shah Alam added.
