Derailment snaps Sylhet’s train services

It will take three to four hours to resume the train service

Train communication between Sylhet division and the rest of the country has been suspended after a bogie of a freight train derailed in Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar district.

The incident happened at the outer signal area of Boromchal rail station around 11:30am on Sunday.

Kulaura railway station Officer Muhib Uddin said: "The bogies of a freight train from Maijgaon area veered off the tracks, halting train communications on the route."

"The rescue operation is underway. It will take three to four hours to resume the train service," he added.
