Three people who suffered burn injuries while trying to stay warm by igniting bonfires, died in separate incidents in Rangpur and Thakurgaon.

The victims were identified as Sabiha, 3, daughter of Babor Ali from Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha district and Alam Miah, 35, son of Siddikur Rahman from Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha district.
Dr MA Hamid Polash, head of the RMCH Burn and Plastic Surgery unit, said: "Sabiha and Alam sustained burn injuries while trying to stay warm by igniting bonfire. Sabiha admitted to the hospital on December 18 and Alam on 20. Both had received at least 60 to 65% burns on their body."
26 burn patients were admitted to the hospital in the last 11 days after they suffered burn injuries in such fire incidents, Dr Hamid confirmed.
In Thakurgaon, an elderly woman was burned to death while warming herself in a fire at Bhomradaha union in Pirganj upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Rozima Bewa, 70, wife of late Sirajul Islam.
Bhomradaha union Chariman Hitler Haque said the incident took place around 7:30pm when the victim was warming herself by lighting a fire beside the bed.
The curtain, at one stage, caught fire which later engulfed her, leaving her dead on the spot.
Pirganj fire station unit rushed to the scene after hearing the news and brought the fire under control after an hour long effort.
Pirganj UNO Rezaul Karim visited the scene and handed over Tk 10,000 to deceased's family for her burial.
