Five people, including four of a family, were killed in a collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Bheramara upazila of Kushtia on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Mesba Uddin, 32, his wife Runa Begum, 26, son Rujdi, 7 months, mother Josna Khatun, and driver Jalal Uddin, 32.
Bheramara police station OC Shuvro alias Farooque said the accident took place on the Pabna-Ishwardi road at about 3:15pm, leaving the driver and two passengers dead on the spot.
The police station Sub-Inspector Asad said Jalal, Runa, and Rujdi died on the spot after the collision, while Mesba and Josna died while undergoing treatment at Kushtia 250 bed General Hospital.
Police later recovered the bodies from the scene, he added.
In Chittagong, a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) man was killed and another injured as their motorcycle lost control on Hafez Bazlur Rahman Road in Raozan upazila.
The deceased were identified as Sajib Mutsudddi, 19, a student of Imam Gazzali University College, reports UNB.
Chairman of Pahartali union council Rokon Uddin, said the accident took place around 11pm on Monday as the motorcycle turned upside down after it fell into a small hole, leaving Sajib and his friend Arnab injured.
They were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where Sajib died early on Tuesday.
In Bhola, a three-and-a-half-year-old boy was run over by a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola in the afternoon, reports our correspondent.
Deceased Md Jihad was the son of Anwar, a resident of Boro Manika union under the upazila.
Witnesses said the three-wheeler knocked Jihad to death in Milon Bazar area around 12:30pm when he was standing under a roadside tree, leaving him critically injured.
The on-duty doctor of Daulatkhan Upazila Health Complex Faria said the boy was brought dead at the hospital.
Being informed, Daulatkhan Police Station sub-inspector Mehedi Hasan went to the hospital.
