Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered two rounds of bullets and some arms-making equipment from a Union Parishad Chairman’s house in Chittagong.
The law enforcement agency conducted the drive on Saturday morning.
The public representative is identified as Belal Hossain, incumbent Chairman of Sarowatali Union in Boalkhali upazila.
Commanding Officer of Rab 7, Lt Col Moshiur Rahman, confirmed the matter.
He said: "The ammunition and other arms-making equipment were recovered from within the boundary of the UP Chairman’s house.
“However, we cannot say for sure if the ammunitions belong to the UP Chairman, as neither him nor any member of his family was found during the drive.”
