A bomb has gone off near the Aranghata police station in Khulna.
Police filed a case, accusing unnamed people, on Friday for the attack that occurred on Thursday.
However, there were no immediate reports of any casualties or damages.
Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Khulna Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (media) Md Moniruzzaman Mithu said: "We are conducting drives to apprehend the ones involved in the attack."
According to police, the explosion occurred at the Aranghata Primary School's field, which is adjacent to the police station. Senior police officials visited the crime scene to assess the situation and a counter-terrorism unit from Dhaka has already collected evidence from the site.
On September 30, a similar explosion occurred at an Awami League office in Shiromoni under the jurisdiction of Khan Jahan Ali police station of Khulna. Meanwhile, a bomb was hurled at the panel chairman of Khulna Zilla Parishad, Sajjadur Rahman Lincoln, also the president of Jubo League’s Khan Jahan Ali unit.
