Workers and employees enforced the strike starting at 6am on Tuesday and will continue till 6am on Wednesday, state-owned jute mills CBA and non-CBA Sangram Parishad Joint Convener Murad Hossain said.
As part of the six-day-long program, on its fourth day on Tuesday, workers of Crescent Jute Mills, Platinum Jute Mills, Khalishpur Jute Mills, Daulatpur Jute Mills, Star Jute Mills, Alim Jute Mills and Eastern Jute Mills in Khulna; JJI, and Carpeting Jute Mills in Jessore gathered in front of their mills and staged demonstration to realize their demands.
Khalishpur Jute Mills workers staged demonstration burning old tyres on the street.
They will join rallies scheduled to be held in front of the respective mills around 4pm.
The jute mill workers are also scheduled to hold meetings on December 8, and go on a hunger strike on December 10.
