The accused also reportedly spread the ninth-grader's indecent photographs online
Police have arrested a man from Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj for allegedly raping a schoolgirl and spreading indecent photographs of the act online.
Kashiani police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Firoz Ahmed Munshi identified the man as Raju Ahmed, 25, from the upazila.
SI Firoz, also the case investigation officer, said they caught Raju from the upazila's Parulia village on Monday morning, after the victim's father Sunday night filed two cases against him.
One of the cases was started over rape charges under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and the other under the Pornography Control Act.
SI Firoz said they had seized Raju's mobile phone, following his arrest, as evidence and found indecent photos of the girl on it.
According to case details, Raju and the ninth-grader of Parulia Gopimohon High School were in a relationship for a while and he used it to rape her several times.
He also spread the photographs of the act online afterwards.
SI Firoz said Raju was produced before the Gopalganj Judicial Magistrate Court later on Monday with a remand plea for seven days.
