Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have detained seven people while they were entering Bangladesh from India through the Maheshpur border area in Jhenaidah.
A man, woman and four children were detained on Wednesday night while another woman was held on Thursday morning, reports UNB.
Jhenaidah Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB 58) Additional Director Lt Col Quamrul Ahsan said the group of six was detained from Pipulbaria village of Kusumpur BOP while a woman was apprehended from the house of Moshiur Rahman in Sundorpur village for illegally entering Bangladesh from India.
All the detainees were handed over to Maheshpur police, he said.
During interrogation, police discovered that they are Bangladeshi citizens. The six held on Wednesday went to India 10 months ago seeking medical care.
