Locals rescued and took Gani Mia to Chuadanga General Hospital where he died Tuesday morning
A Bangladesh national has been beaten to death by Indian citizens along Chakulia border in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga.
The incident took place on Tuesday.
The deceased, Gani Mia, 30, was a cattle trader by profession and a resident of Kurulgachhi Chakulia village in the upazila.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and locals said Gani intruded into Indian border early Tuesday to bring cattle heads.
He had an argument over dealings with Indian citizen Zakir Hossain, another cattle trader.
At one stage, Zakir along with his two siblings -- Bhoja and Bashir Ali -- beat up Gani, leaving him injured near demarcation pillar number 87.
Locals rescued and took him to Chuadanga General Hospital where he died around 9am.
Chuadanga 6 BGB Commanding Officer Lt Col Md Khalequzzaman confirmed the matter.
"We are investigating the incident," he added.
