At least 15 people have been injured in a clash between two factions of Awami League in Khoksa upazila of Kushtia district.
The incident occurred at Khoksa Janipur Government Secondary School of the upazila on Monday morning.
The factions fought over chairs at Upazila Awami League Triennial conference around 2pm on Monday. The conference was being held after seven years.
The injured have been taken to Khoksha Health Complex, said a conference committee member.
Khoksha police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) ABM Mehedi Masud said: "Additional police have been deployed at eight crucial points of the upazila.
"Police in plain clothes are patrolling in the area."
