Body of Rohingya recovered in Cox’s Bazar

He was previously accused in various murder, rape, robbery and drug crimes cases


Police have recovered the body of a Rohingya man in Cox’s Bazar.

The deceased is Nur Johor, 25, son of Hossain Ahmed of the same district.

His body was around 8:30am on Friday at Palli Shamiti Bazar area.

Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model police station Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Md Akhteruzzaman confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

The OC said: “Locals informed police when they saw a slaughtered body lying under the bridge of Palli Shamiti Bazar area. Later, police identified the body as Nur Johor’s. They had checked police criminal records and found him accused in various murder, rape, robbery and drug crimes cases.”

Police have not yet found the reason behind the murder.

The body was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
