Man held with 8.2kg gold at Chittagong airport

The arrestee was identified as Md Akhtaruzzaman Khan, 32 of Fatikchhari upazila

Customs intelligence officials on Monday detained a man along with 70 gold bars from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong. 

The arrestee was identified as Md Akhtaruzzaman Khan, 32 of Fatikchhari upazila.

Khan came at the airport from Abu Dhabi by a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines around 11am, said Shah Amanat International Airport Customs Deputy Commissioner Md Riadul Islam, reports UNB.

Customs officials recovered the gold bars weighing around 8.2kg from his luggage which were concealed in flash lights, he added.
