Mozammel acknowledged that there is a little dissatisfaction among the freedom fighters over their monthly allowances
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said, a list of Razakars (Pakistani collaborators) who committed crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War, will be published on December 16.
He disclosed the decision while giving his inaugural speech at a view exchange meeting with freedom fighters from the Awami League sub-committee on Liberation War affairs of Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions in the Bongo Taz auditorium in Joydebpur of Gazipur city on Friday.
The minister said: “Freedom fighters will get their identity cards next January. The facilities for the freedom fighters would be inscribed on the reverse side of the card.”
The Minister said: "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will present every insolvent freedom fighter with a house worth Tk15 Lakh next year in celebration of the 100th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Muijbur Rahman."
Mozammel acknowledged that there is a little dissatisfaction among the freedom fighters over their monthly allowances. “The freedom fighters’ allowance will be revised next year.”
In addition to this, the project works titled ‘building freedom fighters graves in the same design,’ will tentatively begin from January, Haque said.
The role of the freedom fighters and the Razakars will be included in the school and college-level textbooks and the syllabus of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), Mozammel added.
Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Mohammad Jahangir Alam chaired the meeting and Awami League sub-committee on Liberation War Affairs Chairman Md Rashidul Alam spoke as chief guest in the program. Awami League's Gazipur city unit president Ajmat Ullah moderated the function while former MP of the Gazipur-2 constituency Kazi Mozammel Haque, former MP and Gazipur district council Chairman Md Akhtaruzzaman, MP of Gazipur-3 constituency Iqbal Hossain Sabuj, Awami League's Dhaka district unit President MP Benzir Ahmed, Narsingdi district freedom fighter association's former Commander Abdul Motaleb and Mymensingh district freedom fighters’ association former Commander Anower Hossain, among others, spoke in this program.
